Information Collection & Use

Registration

In order to use this Web site, you must first complete the registration form and create a user name and password. During registration you are required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact you about the services on our site in which you have expressed interest. 

At the time of registration you will be subscribed to our monthly newsletter. If you do not wish to receive it you may elect not to at that time. If you do wish to subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

When the registration form has been completed we will send an email to you in order to verify the email address you have given us. The email will contain a link that you must click in order to complete your registration.

A Few Good People, Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on www.CopingUniversity.com.   A Few Good People, Inc. collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our Web site.

Orders 

If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). 

We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. 

Surveys

From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information, and demographic information (such as zip code). 

We use this information monitor site traffic or solicit your feedback on features of our site in order to improve our service.

We will use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys; that company will be prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose.  We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. CopingUniversity.com will store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.

Your friend may contact us here to request that we remove this information from our database.

Uses of Information

Upon registration we will ask you to provide us with the primary disease state with which you are dealing. This information will only be used to tailor your experience on our site so that it is as meaningful and helpful to you as possible. This information will also be used in the aggregate to analyze our site usage and this aggregate data may be shared with third parties, but it will not be shared with any third party in any way that would associate it with any of your personally identifiable information.

Upon registration we will also ask you to specify your role in the situation, such as patient, caregiver, family member, or friend. Communications from the Site

We will occasionally send you information on products and services. You can sign up for these emails from us on our registration page.

Service-related Announcements

We will send you service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.

Profile

We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, and/or clear gifs to create a “profile” of your preferences. We tie your personally identifiable information, and your purchasing history, to information in the profile, in order to provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve the content of the site for you.

Log Files

As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)

We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please see “Choice and Opt-out.”

Customer Testimonials/Comments/Reviews

We post customer testimonials/comments/reviews on our web site which may contain personally identifiable information. We do obtain the customer's consent via email prior to posting the testimonial to post their name along with their testimonial.
